According to Natural Resources and Environment Minister Chalermchai Sri-on, economic policies must be in line with public wants and promote long-term social rewards.

Mr. Chalermchai made the remarks at a gathering on Wednesday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning ( ONEP ).

Over 300 representatives from state firms, private companies and economic systems attended the event, which featured the “50 Times of the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning: From Vision to Reality” show. Additionally, there was a special medal ceremony held at the ceremony to recognize outstanding employees for their hard work and commitment.

Onep’s contribution to achieving sustainable development that accounts environmental protection and financial growth is significant.

According to Mr. Chalermchai, even the Democrat Party innovator,” This requires assistance among all businesses and government agencies must adapt to changing climate problems.”

He emphasized that climate laws must be in line with public demands and provide long-term economic benefits.

Three fundamental principles should be adhered to in order to achieve the goals of matching economic policies with open needs and promoting cultural long-term benefits: strengthening collaboration with all sectors, focusing on people needs, and improving effectiveness in government services.

Onep initially supported the National Environment Board under the leadership of the Prime Minister’s Office, which was established in 1975 in response to the National Environmental Quality Promotion and Preservation Act. As economic concerns intensified, new regulations expanded its obligations.

Onep continues to work with various organizations and maintains its commitment to protecting the environment and supporting sustainable development in Thailand through effective plans.
