
Soon after, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived on the scene to help manage the flames and provide medical aid where needed.
This was the first training at Bayshore MRT of this type since it first opened in mid-’24.
In the second half of the training, volunteers bandaged the wounds of seriously wounded public figures and treated a man who had just passed cardiac arrest.
One charity performed neck compressions, while another discovered a man with an automated external defibrillator on him.
PA CERT members are trained in performing , respiratory treatment and using automatic external devices.  ,
Effective members take different courses in emergency preparedness to be able to perform their duties when they are activated.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, who is an assistant to East Coast GRC community companies, highlighted the importance of being prepared for emergencies.
” Our capacity to respond , immediately, to reduce the damage of the problems, to save lives, to protect home, is so essential to our resilience”, said Mr Heng.
He continued,” We’re quite fortunate that our cooperation and our planning have allowed us to keep a very safe and secure Singapore all these years.”
