After about two weeks since the vote on June 26 and the election commission’s (EC ), it was refrained from pleading its foot when it announced the certified results of the election for 200 new senators.
The outcome could not be announced, according to EC chair Ittiporn Boonpracong, who spoke after the EC’s meeting on Monday.
He vowed that the polling place would release the results despite what critics had suggested, but he said it would n’t if it had done so on Tuesday.
If the outcome was n’t announced on Tuesday, it would probably be delayed until after Mr. Ittiporn’s prepared leave of absence, according to a supply at the EC.
The winners and losers of the Senate vote are pressuring the EC. One group has now urged the company to support the outcome in order to stop the current Senate from holding its own, and another called for it to look into allegations of fraud and dubious eligibility decisions.
A number of original prospects on Monday threatened to sue the EC for misconduct if the EC rushed to release the results before their problems about irregularities are heard.
One additional complaint requested that the Administrative Court postpone the outcome news and request that the incoming Senate remove the poll commissioners for breaking the charter.
There is no set precise date for the EC to release a consequence, as per the natural law on Senate composition. The EC must just step aside to handle complaints five days after the election’s final circular.
However, the outgoing Senate on Monday voted 101: 10 with 17 abstentions to set up a 23- part particular section to check the Senate poll. The board has 30 days to complete its task.
Senator Somchai Swangkarn, the senators ‘ incoming leader, defended the decision, saying they felt compelled to manage the operation until their last day in business and ensure a smooth transition to the next higher room.
