Eight Singaporeans among 71 foreigners rescued in quake-hit Taiwan: Reports

SINGAPORE: Eight Singaporeans were among 71 immigrants rescued after they were trapped in quake- hit Hualien – the centre of&nbsp, Taiwan’s strongest earthquake in 25 times, local media reported on Thursday ( Apr 4).

The 7.2- scale earthquake&nbsp, killed 10 people and left more than 1, 000 injured.

Of the 71 immigrants rescued, six folks are from the UK, seven are from the US and 25 are from Germany, according to reports citing Taiwan government.

A French and two Australians were also missing as of 4.30pm native day, said Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

After being rescued, lots of missing guests and staff arrived at a momentary health place on Thursday.

On appearance, the more than 30 rescued individuals underwent a simple medical verify- up to assess a possible need for hospitalisation.

” The day was a terrible, terrible struggle with waves and spasms and stones falling every few minutes”, said Namrita, 39, who was visiting Taiwan from Singapore.

She later went to the hospital along with her father.
