91 cellular phones were found with eight Chinese citizens traveling through this northern state on a tour bus. They were discovered to have overstayed and entered Thailand improperly.

After a van stopped at the Yasothon bus connector in the Muang area at around 4am on Wednesday, authorities searched the vehicle between Bangkok and Khemmarat in Ubon Ratchathani.

Eight Chinese people, ages 20 to 28, were detained. According to police, two were found to possess overstayed their permits, and the others were found to have entered Thailand improperly.

Additionally, officials seize 91 cell phones that were discovered in a case. The suspects admitted to breaking the law by using a speaker to convey their disclaimer of ownership to the police.

In response to a big crackdown led by Thailand and China on illegal firms in border areas, local media reported that the defendants were believed to be involved in a fraud activity and were moving their headquarters to another nation.

Authorities also found two Thai citizens — Ponlawat Ninwiset, 31, and Mongkol Khamkaew, 47 — who admitted to taking turns to push the vehicle. According to them, the Taiwanese men reportedly boarded the bus in Saraburi’s Kaeng Khoi area and traveled to Khemmarat, a boundary district in Ubon Ratchathani province.
