ECRL C2 stretch including Puncak Alam station to be completed by Dec 31, 2027, says Dr Wee

KUALA LUMPUR: The particular East Coast Train Link (ECRL) C2 stretch that passes through Selangor – from Gombak to Port Klang – is expected to become completed on Dec 31, 2027, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong ( picture ).

“The finalization date for the C2 stretch from Gombak to Port Klang, including the Puncak Alam station, is anticipated to be completed by Dec 31, 2027, ” said Dr Wee in a created reply on Wed (Aug 3).

Dr Wee mentioned the C portion of the ECRL monitor in Selangor is made up of C1 (from Mentakab to ITT Gombak) and the C2 stretch which is 74. 25km, and covers four stations – Serendah Baru (passenger plus cargo), Puncak Alam (passenger), Kapar (passenger) and Port Klang (passenger and cargo).

The C section of the ECRL had undergone public inspection from Aug 23 till Nov 23 last year, plus received the final approval under the railway system on Jan twenty this year.

“The public inspection is to allow members of the public to provide feedback on the proposed ECRL alignment and station, especially in Selangor, and especially Puncak Alam and Kapar, ” added Dr Wee.

Following the general public inspection and several engagement sessions, Dr Wee said the public comments showed that many needed the Puncak Alam station to be built.

“For at this point, the Puncak Alam station is still within the designing phase plus technical negotiations along with agencies under the Selangor state government, ” said Dr Wee.

Dr Wee mentioned the Puncak Alam station will be located in the Kuala Selangor district and is also expected to be situated in the vicinity of casing areas, businesses and recreational amenities.

He was responding to Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub (PH-Pulai), which asked about details on the construction of the ECRL station at Puncak Alam.

In June, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz announced the particular approval to construct an ECRL station on Puncak Alam, Shah Alam.
