Duo involved in Second Link road rage incident nabbed

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Two people who were mixed up in road rage incident at the Customs, Migration and Quarantine (CIQ) at the Second Hyperlink have been arrested.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Rahmat Ariffin said both suspects – the 46-year-old woman and an 18-year-old Singaporean male – had been detained on Thursday night (July 14) from 11. 15pm.

He said each of them were apprehended at the immigration checkpoint of the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex, Tanjung Kupang heading towards Johor.

“Both suspects admitted in order to being involved in the case, ’’ ACP Rahmat said in a statement.

Several video clips of the incident went viral last Saturday (July 9), where two people were seen stopping a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in the middle of the road before yelling foul words from its driver.

The suspects were in a red Singapore-registered sedan car.

The two people, the male and a feminine, came out of the vehicle throughout the incident.

The male after that shouted vulgar phrases and made obscene gestures to the victims in the MPV as the female yanked out the victims’ car plate before throwing it towards the windshield of the MPV.

In one of the videos, the girl was seen in physical form trying to stop the victims’ car from moving by standing in front side of the vehicle.

She was also noticed pushing her body towards the MPV whilst signalling to other vehicles that were honking to maneuver ahead.
