Large floods, rough seas call on Andaman until Wednesday
Thailand: A missing French guest was found dead on a shore on Monday, two weeks after he disappeared while swimming with his partner.
Luvovadio Deraut’s figure was washed up on Freedom shore in the Muang area, according to Pol Lt Col Wiwat Chamnankit, deputy chief of the Karon police station. It underwent a post-mortem investigation at Vachira Phuket Hospital.
His home in Belgium was informed, and he claimed his relatives were going to Paradise to retrieve the body.
Deraut, 28, was swimming at the beach with his partner on Saturday. He and two other travellers, both from Oman, were reported dragged out to sea by the powerful currents. With the assistance of divers and Phuket Foundation detectives, lifeguards on jet ski began their hunt for them.  ,
The two Yemenis were saved on Saturday, but the investigators did not find Deraut.  ,
Deraut drowned while swimming in Phuket Province for the third time in a year.
In light of the current weather conditions, lifeguards display purple colors on the shore to inform swimmers.
The Meteorological Department said Phuket and other Andaman coastal areas will experience more weighty rain and strong waves until Wednesday.
Smaller boats are advised to be ashore, and seamen should take precautions.
Different parts of Thailand are expected to experience large rain.
