Driver who almost hit Pasir Ris condo chairman and drove dangerously gets fine, driving ban

SINGAPORE: A driver who almost hit the chairman of his condominium’s Management Corporation Strata Title (MCST ) was fined S$ 10, 000 ( US$ 7, 400 ) and banned from driving for two years on Thursday ( Jun 13 ).

When the chair accused the man of driving in the basement carpark against traffic, the man responded that it was typical for the people that to travel in that manner.

Stanford Ho, a 27- year- ancient Singaporean, pleaded guilty to one charge each of a reckless act endangering individual safety and unsafe driving for an related incident.

The 59-year-old president of the MCST of Coco Palms apartment in Pasir Ris Grove was spotted driving against prospects on Jul 15, 2023, according to the jury.

Ho was signaled to stop by the president, who instructed him to proceed in the appropriate manner. Ho claimed that driving that manner was popular among residents there.

Ho’s mom, who was in the vehicle, alighted and apologised to the president, saying she would find her son to pull properly.

Ho attempted to drive against customers to leave the carpark while the dialogue was raging.

When his family noticed this, she sat between the car and the president to stop the latter from approaching the aircraft.

Ho therefore made a manoeuvre past the chair and his family. Ho slanted his figure slightly in the direction of the car because the president wanted to halt his exit.

The automobile came into contact with the president’s shoulder, leaving a mark. The chair was nearly struck by a car, according to the condo’s security guard who called 999.

Ho left the scene and only came back after his mother informed him that the authorities were present.

THE SECOND INCIDENT

Some months afterwards, on Oct 6, 2023, Ho was driving along Pasir Ris Grove, while a 53- yr- ancient female driver was in the opposite lane.

Immediately, Ho accelerated and immediately cut into the person’s street, causing the woman to behave by braking.

Ho continued to drive ahead of the person after this near-collision before abruptly stopping.

The lady was unable to respond in time, and Ho’s collided with the back of her car.

The girl filed a police statement.

Ho was recently found guilty of speeding in 2017 and of foolish or unsafe driving in 2019.

The prosecutors sought a great of S$ 2, 000 for the apartments affair, and S$ 8, 000 and a driving restrictions of 24 weeks for the following incident.

Ho paid the fine in total.
