
Boon Vanasin, the leader of Thonburi Healthcare Group, and 16 others have been charged in a fraud case involving more than 10 billion rmb, according to a prosecutor.
After receiving the case summary from the Department of Special Investigation ( DSI), which accuses Dr. Boon and his alleged accomplices of conducting fraudulent loans and fraud, Sakkasem Nisaiyok, spokesman for the Office of the Attorney-General ( OAG ), Sakkasem Nisaiyok provided an update on the progress of the case on Friday.
The offences allegedly took place from somewhere in 2010 until Dec 15, 2024, in many places, including Huai Khwang and Bangkok Noi districts in Bangkok, as well as other places across Thailand, resulting in estimated damage of about 16.1 billion ringgit.
The unique dispute business has established a unique working team to evaluate the case because of the large number of victims, the major economic damage, and the general public interest.
After detailed account, lawyers decided to prosecute Dr Boon and additional alleged partners, including his ex-wife Charuvarn Vanasin and child Nalin Vanasin.
But, Dr. Boon and two other accompliers, Thitiporn Chalermrattanapratip and Kotchaporn Suwanakood, have not been apprehended. Within the 15-year statute of limitations, the DSI has been given the task of ensuring their imprisonment.
The remainder have already been sued by the prosecution with the Criminal Court.
