Don Mueang airport check-in system failure causes flight delays

Early on Saturday morning, a malfunction in the automatic check-in structure at Don Mueang Airport caused lengthy lines and delays in flight.

Around 9.45 am, according to the Thai Civil Aviation Authority ( CAAT ). Airport workers were assigned to assist people.

Travelers who planned to travel were advised to allow at least three days for check-in or to check-in online in advance if they did no own bag.

In the event of delays or cancellations, the CAAT directed airlines to uphold passengers ‘ rights as stipulated in the law.

One customer said the check-in program collapsed around 3am, affecting vacation. His journey to Nakhon Phanom territory was delayed by about an hour, he continued.

Kirati Kijmanawat, president of Airports of Thailand Plc ( AoT), reported that a technical glitch occurred during an update for the Common Use Passenger Processing System ( CUPPS) at around 1am, which affected check-ins and caused delays in flights. The solution was being worked out in a race against time.

AoT apologized for the trouble, and Mr. Kirati stated that the system was scheduled to resume normal operation by lunch.
