Don courts US investors in push for green growth

Thailand aims to accepted more US traders in renewable energy, digital economy and wise electronics to the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), says Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The minister attended a wedding reception in honour from the Thai delegation managed by the US–Asean Business Council and US Chamber of Business (USCC) at JW Marriott Essex House in New York upon Thursday during the 77th United Nations General Set up (UNGA).

He said the nation is moving forward with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economic climate Model to create more sustainable, more resistant and more balanced economic growth.

The BCG economic climate remains at the forefront of Thailand’s priorities at the regional level, while the government also hopes to advance the Thailand-US partnership.

On the business front, incentives are now being accelerated to aid the introduction of S-curve industries within the Eastern Economic Hallway (EEC).

Thailand will accepted more investments plus support, particularly within low-carbon industries, renewable energy, the digital economy, smart electronics as well as the bio-industry, he mentioned.

The particular minister also hosted a side event on “Regional Paths to the Global Objectives: Asean’s Approach toward SDGs Implementation plus Sustainable Post-Covid-19 Recovery. ”

Here, the aim is usually increased collaboration in advancing a lasting development agenda, especially in the context of the post-Covid-19 recovery, he said.

In the opening remarks, Mr Don emphasised the necessity to accelerate action to attain sustainable development goals.
