Thailand will become a local hub for the online market, according to Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who has committed to doing so through a number of policies.

During her visit to Los Angeles, she met with Irving Tan, Executive Vice President for Global Operations at Western Digital ( WD), one of the largest hard drive producers in the world.

Ms. Paetongtarn affirmed the government’s plan to make Thailand a regional hub for the modern market during the meeting by stating that the modern economy is a major driver of growth.

She stated that the government intends to accomplish this perspective through initiatives like” Get Cloud First,” automated government, cloud computing adoption, and the digitalization of government administrative functions.

The state will also encourage the use of renewable and clean energy, which is a crucial component of creating a green digital economy, according to Ms. Paetongtarn.

She also stressed the government’s dedication to streamlining methods to relieve foreign funding, with a focus on sustainable development. She thanked WD for its commitment to Thailand investment.

Mr. Tan praised the president’s policy, which places an emphasis on promoting the online economy, and acknowledged that the modern economy is a key driver of growth.

He stated that WD values Thailand as a significant manufacturing base and that it is confident that it will make additional investments in the future. WD is considering opening an R&amp, D heart in Bangkok, according to Mr Tan.

He claimed that the company is willing to work with the government and universities to improve employee skills in order to meet market demand. He added that improving human resource skills will be essential for the economy’s future.

Ms. Paetongtarn stated that WD is committed to fresh energy and has two businesses in Thailand, one of which is in Ayutthaya and the other in Prachin Buri, with the aim of achieving 100 % clean electricity by 2030.

She stated that the business wants Thais to work there and have contacted the authorities and the Board of Investment to help its action. She added that in order to meet market needs, the authorities will encourage language and skill development.

Besides meeting tech industry figures, Ms Paetongtarn hosted a networking reception attended by executives of the Motion Picture Association ( MPA ) whose members include Disney, Netflix, Paramount, Sony, Universal and Warner Bros.

Thailand is taking lessons from the US, which “possesses the nation’s strongest sweet energy,” and the film industry, according to the prime minister, is critical to the government’s soft power promotion strategy.

Ms Paetongtarn said more than 450 films from 40 countries were shot in Thailand next year, generating income of US$ 190 million, with 34 produced by the US artists. She stated that the government will continue to support content creators and the film industry and is willing to look into incentives, including cash rebates, to entice more international works.

Thailand is one of the top choices for international film productions thanks to the president’s incentives, according to MPA Chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin. He claimed that these subsidies will encourage more incoming purchase and that he was looking forward to working with Thai companies more frequently.

According to Mr. Rivkin, the MPA’s operations increased local economies by boosting skills and boosting local communities ‘ employment by bringing in an average of$ 1.3 million per day.

The 31st Apec Economic Leaders ‘ Meeting and related meetings scheduled for November 14 to 17 will be attended by the prime minister and her group from Los Angeles to Peru.

On November 18, she is expected to travel back to Thailand.
