The Bang Kwang Central Prison inmate claimed to have been drugged and raped by a cellmate earlier this year, and the Department of Corrections ( DoC ) has committed to investigate the allegations.
The DoC denied sitting quietly on the problem, noting that the criminal had received a disciplinary action and that the victim had been moved to a different prison wing.  ,
The statement was made two weeks after Nititorn Kaewto, a well-known attorney, posted the defendant’s situation on his Instagram page.
According to Mr Nititorn, the abuse took place in January. The target, he said, lost awareness after drinking some coffee with his cellmates. The target regained consciousness as the abuse took place and yelled out for his other flatmate, who was sleeping outside.
Mr Nititorn said the victim first sought help from Wichien Chubthaisong, president of the Lawyers Council of Thailand (LC T), in April.
Officers from Nonthaburi Provincial Police Station claim they do n’t have the manpower to investigate the case, according to Mr. Nititorn’s post, but Mr. Wichien ordered LC T’s Human Rights Cases Subcommittee to provide legal assistance to the victim.
But, the DoC on Sunday rebuffed the state, saying an investigation was launched as soon as the problem was received.
The prey was immediately taken for psychological and physical examinations to Bang Kwang Central Prison Hospital. Additionally, it was noted that the incident was reported to the Nonthaburi Provincial Police Station on January 15.
According to the statement, the offender received a disciplinary action while the victim was moved to a different aircraft, adding that the victim’s emotional evaluation came back to normal.
According to the statement, Mr. Nititorn claimed that he was not bullied by another prisoners.
The DoC emphasized that prisoners ‘ treatment is consistent with the Mandela Rules, the United Nations ‘ ( UN) Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners, which was created to make all prisoners safer.
Pol Col Jaturon Anurakbundit, Nonthaburi Provincial Police Station director, said that he has received a statement of the abuse and pledged to accelerate up the research.
