The Department of Highways ( DoH ) has promised to pay compensation to the victims ‘ families who were killed last week when a crane fell on Rama II Road in Samut Sakhon.
The tragedy, which occurred at 4am on Nov 29 at the site of the elevated Ekkachai-Ban Phaeo Intervity Motorway 82 ( M82 ) project, claimed the lives of six workers– two Thais and four from Myanmar.
Samut Sakhon’s Social Security Office has been contacted to arrange payment for the deceased employees ‘ people, according to Apirat Chaiwongnoi, director-general of Ratchaburi’s Office of Occupational Safety and Health Area 7 under the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare.
According to Mr. Apirat, the DoH will do everything in its power to ensure that payment is distributed immediately and that those who were injured get the care they deserve.
The cleanup is scheduled to be finished on December 14 and workers are now removing the dirt from the construction site.
According to Mr. Apirat, a new crane will be used to remove the dirt, and experts and specialists will be in charge of the entire process.
Cars traveling toward Samut Sakhon are advised to apply the contraflow street, which will be open daily from 7am to 9pm until the clean-up is finished, to ease traffic along the event site.
Congestion was reported around the building site on the first day of the ball’s opening on Sunday. He stated that authorities will be on standby in the area to assist with prospects directing.
Professionals have installed specialized sensors on key structures to detect any unusual movements that might indicate an imminent failing, he said, in an effort to stop similar accidents from occurring in the future.
