The Democrat Party made a decision on Thursday to meet the Pheu Thai, a gathering it when viewed as its archrival, coalition government.
Democrat-leader Chalermchai Sri-on, as well as members of the executive branch and Members, took part in the vote. The lot voted in favour of joining the alliance, while some people abstained, and some skipped the appointment.
After leaving the Palang Pracharath Party due to internal conflicts, Pheu Thai invited the Democrats to resign as leader of the new state.
Since Thaksin Shinawatra founded Thai Rak Thai in 1998, the Democrat Party has never won a general election. Former officials, including ex-prime secretary Chuan Leekpai, have strongly opposed any empire with Pheu Thai. Mr. Chuan warned that a move like this might lead to a further decline in the reputation of Thailand’s oldest political gathering, which was established in 1946.
Dej-id Kaothong, the newly elected deputy head of the Democrats, defended the choice on Wednesday. After receiving a government proposal from Pheu Thai, he said,” All should know that the circumstances in the past and existing are different.”
However, some key Democrat supporters and members on Thursday expressed disappointment with the choice to add Pheu Thai’s coalition. Even before the last vote, Sirichok Sopha, a former Democrat MP for Songkhla, announced his resignation from the group after over three years of membership. He cited unflagging differences between group plans and political theory.
For example, Sirichok Sopha, a former MP for Songkhla, made his decision to leave the party, which he had been a part of for more than three decades, before the final determination was decided on by the Democrat table at a conference called Thursday evening.
Mr. Sirichok, who had won a general election four days, expressed his opinion that he was one of the last to depart, following a prior mass migration of long-time people, in response to concerns that more users may follow suit.
Watanya: Do n’t let Democrat supporters down
” Let bygones get bygones? Or allow your followers down”? asked Watanya Bunnag, a well-known Democrat part, in a Facebook post on Thursday.
Ms. Watanya criticized the MPs who supported the empire and called on them to uphold their duty to the electorate by upholding checks and balances. She warned that Pheu Thai’s inclusion in the state had entirely weaken the group’s supporters ‘ existing faith.
The Democrat Party has rarely lost its integrity, she said, despite not winning the election in more than 20 years and going through a lot of political turmoil before then having only 25 MPs.
