A batch of illegal alcohol that devastated a southern Indian town last week left 63 people dead, according to police on Thursday ( Jun 27 ).
In India, hundreds of people pass away each year from low drinking produced in blue factories, but this scenario in Tamil Nadu state is one of the deadliest in recent years.
Others have lost vision as a result of drinking the locally produced “arrack” filled with alcohol in the country’s Kallakurichi area.
According to Rajat Chaturvedi, the district’s leading district police chief, 63 people died in this case.
After the fatal sample was sold, more than 100 people were first taken to hospitals.
Political events in Tamil Nadu have exchanged responsible for the murders, with some opposition legislators having been kicked out of the state legislature after holding a rally on Wednesday demanding Chief Minister M K Stalin’s resignation.
Poor workers in the Kallakurichi district often purchased the alcohol in plastic bags for 60 pounds ( US$ 0 7 ) to consume before work.
This sample, however, was devastating.
Some folks went blind, while another perished before being admitted to the hospital as a result of a collapse in the street.
