Bangkok: On Wednesday ( Apr 24 ), Thai authorities issued an extreme heat warning for the city and urged residents to stay indoors for safety as the temperature rose.
The mercury was forecast to reach 39 degrees Fahrenheit in the sprawling Thai funds, while the heating index rose above 52 degrees Fahrenheit, classed as “extremely risky” by city government.
The heat index is a measure of what the temperature feels like, taking moisture, wind speed and various factors into account.
” Warning: the steam index now is’ really dangerous’. Please avoid actions outdoors”, the Bangkok area authority’s environment ministry wrote in a Twitter post.
When it rises above 52 degree Celsius, the temperature index is regarded as being exceptionally dangerous.
