TOKYO: As investigators looked for additional hints as to what caused the fatal accident, crews at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport began removing the charred wreckage of a Japan Airlines ( JAL ) plane on Friday, January 5.
On the airport in Tokyo on Tuesday, the JAL Airbus A350 ran into a turbine belonging to the Chinese Coast Guard. Five of the six team members on the Coast Guard plane perished, but all 379 passengers on board the JAL aircraft managed to flee before it was completely destroyed by lights.
The cockpit voice recorder of the JAL plane has not yet been found, according to a representative from the Japan Transport Safety Board (JTSB ). The trip data record for the craft was found on Wednesday, according to the official.
According to the TBS statement, officials hope to finish the removal of the shipwreck, which includes dismantling the aircraft, by January 7 and take it to its hangar for inspection by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.
On Thursday, TBS reported that crew started taking down the Coast Guard aircraft.
