Police investigate hoist collapse, as firm offers apologies to victim’s family
A Thai worker’s death was the result of a crane’s collapse at a construction site in the Muang district on Thursday afternoon, according to an investigation into the incident that occurred at the same time as a condominium project in Singapore.
According to authorities, the crane, which weighs about eight tons, fell at about 3.30pm while being used to transport building components to the third floor of the 19-storey apartment project located at the Central Department Store Nakhon Sawan in tambon Nakhon Sawan Tok.
A 33-year-old cranes controller, identified as Laim Pech, died in the event.
The cranes decline also damaged eight homes in the Bang Rao Rakkanjing area, with dirt, including metal shards and stones, falling on three vehicles.
The cause of the incident is being looked into by authorities.
Central Pattana Residence Co issued a statement in which it expressed condolences to the family of the worker and accepted complete responsibility for the harms that resulted. Additionally, the business dispatched personnel to assess the damage in the damaged area.
