The former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is accused of having an influence over the Pheu Thai Party in a situation that the solicitor general has presented to the Constitutional Court in records.
The court will decide on November 22 whether to take the situation brought by attorney Teerayut Suwankesorn for discussion.
The date of November 11 was met, and the papers were submitted.
The attorney alleged that Thaksin and Pheu Thai collaborated to destroy the political structure while the King served as the King’s Head of State and requested that the court issue a ruling under Section 49 of the law.
Through the reported collaboration, Thaksin was accused of manipulating Pheu Thai, the party then led by his daughter, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. Thaksin is certainly a member of the party, so the group is prohibited from influencing its operations.
The judge inquired about specifics regarding the accused’s actions, what grounds existed for the argument, and what evidence had been collected thus far.
Attorney General Phairach Pornsomboonsiri, according to reports, gave the judge the necessary paperwork. Without giving any thoughts from the prosecutors ‘ part, the files contained statements from both the applicant and the accused.
The functioning team had previously been contacted by a resource at the court to discuss the facts and gather evidence by Mr. Teerayut, Thaksin, and Pheu Thai representatives.
Mr Teerayut gave his further speech on Oct 30, while the group sent its member, Chousak Sirinil, the Prime Minister’s Office Minister, on Nov 5. But, there is no record of Thaksin having spoken to the OAG.
Mr. Teerayut pointed out that the OAG had simply informed him without his knowledge that he had just learned from the reports that the papers had been sent to the Constitutional Court.
The judge reportedly intended to examine the complaint and determine whether or not to consider it at the courts ‘ meeting on November 13.
However, the courts may be away on international visits, so the choice will likely be made on Nov 22, said the source.
Hospitality and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong, in his power as Pheu Thai secretary-general, said Thaksin has no true engagement with the group.
