Following a vehicle chase in Mae Ai city on Tuesday night, a medication courier was detained and about 4 million meth pills were seized.
On Tuesday evening, soldiers in the Fang area set up a path station in the monk region of Tambon Mon Pin based on information that smugglers would bring a shipment of drugs inland from the Myanmar borders.  ,
Around 8:40 p.m., they flagged down a delivery vehicle with Chiang Mai sheets and headed for Mae Ai. The Northern Border Narcotics Drug and Chemical Substance Control Unit ( Taskforce 35 ) launched a chase.
About 11.30pm, they managed to catch and prevent the delivery truck on Highway 1089 at Kavila community in Mae Ai area, Gen Narit Thawonwong, captain of the Taskforce , 35, said.
Driver Jakha Ja- ou, 40, a tribal of Chiang Mai’s Chai Prakan city, was arrested after 20 items containing a total of 4 million meth tablets were found inside the delivery.
The believe was held for legal actions. The research was continuing.
