The Civil Defence Lionhearters team at ITE College West’s leader, Daryl Chin, expressed his pride in participating in the exercise on Monday. About 30 to 40 students are part of the team at his school.  ,
The 19-year-old added that they are alerted on the MyResponder cellular app, which “motivates me to volunteer in CDLH because I can assist and aid people who are in need whenever I can.”  ,
He shared how to use an automated external device to assist individuals who are experiencing a heart attack or are going through respiratory arrest and how to do respiratory resuscitation.  ,
They even learn how to prevent profuse bleeding in an emergency, using dressings and a pencil, said Mr Chin.  ,
He discussed how to give first aid to the patients and what he needed to watch out for while attempting to quiet himself down amid the noises during the training.  ,
I thought I could contribute something very special because I can assist one in a real attack.
