SINGAPORE: A coroner’s inquiry into the death of a seven-year-old girl hit by a school bus within a Sengkang condominium’s facilities opened on Thursday ( Feb 20 ), with the court hearing how the driver had not seen the girl before the incident occurred. &nbsp,

After the event at The Topiary Condominium in Fernvale on August 15, 2024, Primary 2 scholar Nivya Rameshwar was taken incapacitated to Sengkang General Hospital, where she later died. &nbsp,

A Customers Police investigation official read details from a document into the incident, which took place at a carpark service road close to prevent 23 of The Topiary, on Thursday during a hearing on the stand. The support path had no commuter crossing. &nbsp,

Before 6:19 a.m., Nivya traveled along from her home to take the school bus with her private companion Sivakumar Ilavarasi. &nbsp,

The research officer, Station Inspector Jeff Tan, claimed Phua Hak Heong, the driver of the school bus, had simply picked up a scholar and was leaving the condo. The single-lane parking service path was where he drove the vehicle.

As Mr. Phua approached wall 23, he saw Ms. Sivakumar passing from his right, and he quickly gave in to her. According to Mr Phua, he slowed down the bus&nbsp, but continued on his approach after she had passed. The front-right corner of his van finally became a collision.

He came to a stand and realized Nivya was standing. Mr. Phua claims that he only saw Ms. Sivakumar and no Nivya. He added that it was darker outside and that his car hadn’t broken any electrical parts. &nbsp,

The document even contained Ms Sivakumar’s version of events. Ms. Sivakumar said she would typically accompany Nivya to the school bus’s carpark service road to support her board. The two would have to cross the street for the vehicle. &nbsp,

The school bus do share its location exist prior to its arrival so that students could decide when to leave. &nbsp,

From the building’s raise hall, Ms Sivakumar and&nbsp, Nivya accessed the carpark via a wall. &nbsp, Ms Sivakumar&nbsp, therefore asked Nivya to wait near the gate while she placed Nivya’s luggage on the other side of the road. She stated that, as she had previously promised, she would have Nivya across the road once more. &nbsp,

At this point, Mr Phua’s van approached from Ms Sivakumar’s placed as she crossed the road. Ms. Sivakumar reported that as she approached, she observed Nivya also standing where she had left her and turned round as she was crossing.

But when she began to look about for a place to put down the sacks, she turned and discovered that Nivya had vanished from her previous location. She later witnessed the woman lying face down on the road with blood on pieces of her body. &nbsp,

She rushed to Nivya and pleaded for assistance before grabbing the girl from her back. &nbsp,

Nivya’s papa, who was alerted to noises of the affair from his unit’s ledge, came along and carried Nivya to his vehicle to see if she was aware. &nbsp,

His wife, who works as a nurse, even came down but knew the prospect was” not good” when she saw her daughter, according to the document. &nbsp,

An emergency quickly brought Nivya to the clinic where she passed away. &nbsp,

Nivya had no health background or suicidal tendencies. According to an inquest report, her death was related to her breasts and abdominal injury, which were the same as those sustained in a traffic accident. &nbsp,

Three movies were produced as facts, but nobody captured the event obviously. &nbsp,

Mr Sivakumar and Nivya exiting the raise, the latter carrying two sacks and a cellphone, according to a saving from the hall of the lift. &nbsp,

Another image showed Mr. Phua heading toward the camera and Ms. Sivakumar running up to the crib of Nivya. &nbsp,

A second video, taken from a private complex along the car park service street, showed a shadow of what appeared to be Ms. Sivakumar crossing the road, followed by a smaller shadow, which is thought to be Nivya, who remained in the middle of the street. &nbsp,

As the vehicle drove close, the darkness can be seen stepping backwards.

According to Mr. Tan, this minuscule dark indicated that the number would have been obvious for close to ten seconds. &nbsp,

NIVYA’S Kids PRESENT IN COURT

Nivya’s relatives, who were both present in court, were represented by doctors Alfred Dodwell and Lolita Andrew. &nbsp,

Ms. Andrew posed Mr. Tan questions about the event, including the speed limit and whether the vehicle had really slowed down. &nbsp,

Nivya’s papa had informed Mr. Tan that the carpark support road was a dangerous road because a wall blocked pedestrians ‘ views from the approaching cars during the course of the investigation. &nbsp,

Mr. Tan claimed that prevent 23 had a higher walls than different prevents in the condominium, but that there was no justification for this. &nbsp,

When asked if there had been different places to pick up students in the apartment, Mr. Tan claimed that school buses had already taken them from the main gate drop-off point. Yet, this was ended after families complained that the area was too far. School trucks were then permitted to travel to specific stones to pick up kids. &nbsp,

Ms. Andrew likewise inquired if the front view cameras on the school bus was present. Mr. Tan claimed that the vehicle had a camcorder, but because of issues with the SD cards, no recordings were made. &nbsp,

Ms. Andrew then inquired as to how Mr. Tan had determined that the vehicle had slowed down in response to the research report’s findings. Mr. Tan responded that Mr. Phua may have slowed down from his pedal or simply cruised down the road even though the bus had hardly flashed brake lights. He added that it was possible for the vehicle to continue moving quickly. &nbsp,

Due to its proximity to a private place, the analysis officer claimed that the path had no speed limits. But, there was a rough guideline that vehicles should go between 15kmh and 20kmh, Mr Tan said, adding that he would have to double-check this with the property.

In order to conduct additional examinations, position prosecutor Adam Nakhoda adjourned the trials. These include a determination of the top of the wall that restricted views and an analysis of whether the bus drivers could have seen Nivya at her height of 118cm. &nbsp,

The State Coroner may request a second reading or publish findings once these additional findings have been made. &nbsp,
