In connection with the investigation into the bank’s improper handling of cord blood products, another Cordlife director has been detained in Singapore.
According to a bourse filing on Friday ( Apr 5 ), Mr. andnbsp., Yiu Ming Yiu, a non-independent non-executive director on the board, was detained and released on bail after holding an interview at the police’s Commercial Affairs Department ( CAD ) offices.
He is the sixth man to have been detained in connection with the situation.
The company is aware that the offence is related to possible breaches of the company’s disclosure obligations in relation to the irregular temperatures of a specific cryogenic storage tank, which the company first made known in its announcement dated November 30, 2023,” Cordlife said.
Three other managers, who were required to appear in police discussions on April 2, did not do so. They are past chairman Joseph Wong Wai Leung,  , Mr Zhai Lingyun and Ms Chen Xiaoling.
Mr. Wong had informed the Autocad that he was unable to attend the interview because of his health and that he is “uncertain on the next exam date pending the CAD’s agreement.”
Additionally, Mr. Zhai and Ms. Chen have agreed to postpone their May 21 officers conversations.
The six others who have been detained and released on bail are: past group CEO Tan Poh Lan, former chief financial officer Thet Hnin Yi, acting president Ho Choon Hou, separate managers Yeo Hwee Tiong and Titus Jim Cheong Tuck Yan, as well as non-independent non-executive director Chow Wai Leong.
The business said it will continue to be trading end as of Friday pending” the preparation and finalization of an statement that will be released differently.”
Seven of Cordlife’s storage tanks were exposed to temperatures above appropriate boundaries,  , damaging cord blood products  , belonging to at least 2, 150 customers. Another 17, 000 customers were potentially affected.
