
More than 5, 000 gates are set up across the country to combat human smuggling linked to international atrocities as part of the Royal Thai Police’s (RTP ) efforts to combat call center gangs.
According to RTP official Pol Lt Gen Achayon Kraithong, 524 foreign citizens were detained on Wednesday, 231 others were denied admittance, and more than 45, 000 people were put on a blacklist between Jan. 20 and Feb. 10.
According to him, two defendants in Songkhla were found with two SIM cards and a number of computer products, as well as two defendants in Tak were found with a lot of conversation products.
More than 478, 000 cars were inspected, and nearly 20, 000 persons were screened at gates across the country. Also, inspections were conducted at various types of lodging, transport stations, boundary checkpoints, and normal border crossings, he said.
The federal police chief Kittharath Punpetch, who directed all units to intensify efforts to combat international crimes, particularly call center scams, has directed the use of the checkpoints as one of preventive measures taken.
Authorities officers who are accused of engaging in illegal activity have also been subject to legal action, according to Pol Lt Gen Achayon. In Tak territory, five officials have been transferred to inert articles pending an investigation.
He stated that the federal police chief is pleased with the overall effectiveness and has urged officials to instill in the public trust and reassure visitors.
The authorities chief has shown that he takes this issue really and won’t give those who are found to be careless or incompetent in their duties, he said.
Following steps like cutting light, online, and energy supplies to the border areas where these transborder criminal network operate, Pol Gen Kittharath has also issued an order to agencies to evaluate the evolving strategies of these transborder criminal networks.
Call center groups are expected to adapt by moving their operating foundations, among other methods, according to Pol Lt Gen Achayon, who stated that more actions will be put in place.
