Police possess arrested two petty thieves who experienced illegally removed their own electronic monitoring (EM) bracelets and eliminated on a mini crime-spree in Bangkok.
Pol Lt Gen Samran Nualma, the commissioner from the Metropolitan Police Agency (MPB), said yesterday at a press briefing that police got captured Prawet Lertphungdee and Satawat Chuamwit, on Saturday.
He mentioned his officers furthermore seized items which includes mobile phones, clothes, helmets, guns and 2 Honda PCX motorcycles which were the automobiles the two suspects used to commit the crimes.
Mr Prawet, 26, had been arrested at his house in Ban Khlong Suan, Phra Samut Chedi area, Samut Prakan whilst Mr Satawat, 28, was arrested on his residence in Bang Phong Pang area, Yannawa district in Bangkok, said Pol Lt Gen Samran.
He said that generally there had been a thread of thefts in lots of districts of Bangkok this year. However , 9 of the cases recommended a pattern and officers had positively investigated the offences as a single situation.
Evidence from security cameras had identified Mr Prawet and Mr Satawat, and police officers experienced charged them with theft. They had been launched on bail upon condition they wore EM bracelets at all times.
Afterwards, officers became suspicious that they were receiving false GPS data from the pair and arrested the set on Saturday.
At the scene, police found that Mr Prawet had not been wearing his NA bracelet and it have been left on a charger at another house in Bang Kho Laem district.
Mr Satawat was wearing their, but the GPS indicator on his mobile phone failed to correspond with the 1 attached to his NA bracelet.
Mr Prawet includes a history of theft together served time in prison between 2017 and Jan 26, 2021. He was imprisoned again on January 19, 2022, for the case related to the particular firearms bill.
Mr Satawat was also released through jail in January 2021 and imprisoned again in January 2022 as an accomplice of Mr Prawet.
