Cop sought for factory robbery

In connection with the alleged fraud of manufacturing assets, which resulted in problems of approximately 10 million baht, Pol Capt Aisoon Dathong, lieutenant chief of research at the Chon Buri police station, has been issued an arrest warrant.

Pol Capt Aisoon is suspected of planning a new break-in at the Papermint Factory in Bang Lamung District, where a sizable electrical converter was taken, according to Pol Col Narongrit Wapansu, Deputy Commander of Chon Buri Provincial Police.

After reviewing Video images from the manufacturer, authorities arrested four suspects on Oct 10– Watcharakorn Saenwong, 35, Krailas Sima, 33, Somsak Koetpho, 54, and Chaichana Phummarak, 22– and collected some items used in the violence.

Police expanded their research and discovered that a third party was hired to dismantle the electrical converter for purchase as metal wire and another spare parts.

Five more suspects were therefore arrested: Salit Phimsen, 33, Prapan Rueangdet, 45, Supol Phopiak, 28, Jirawat Suwanthan, 30, and Phongsak Huaiyai, 43. On October 12, they were detained in the towns of Si Racha and Bang Lamung. All alleged to be acting according to the authorities captain’s instructions, he said.

The group managed to remove about 100 kg of copper cables from the converter and sell it for about 50, 000 ringgit to a recycling facility in Si Racha district.

Authorities said Pol Capt Aisoon offered Mr Phongsak 10, 000 ringgit to separate between his affiliates.

When Pol Gen Kitrat Phanphet learned about the officer’s involvement in the crime on Saturday, he directed Pol Maj Gen Thawatkiat Jindakhuansanong, chief of Chon Buri officers, to move the lieutenant research chief from Na Chom Thian police station to the municipal police headquarters.

Also, he mandated that a fact-finding team submit a report within three days. He claimed that Pol Capt Aisoon would face both administrative and criminal punishment if his guilt was proven.

But, Pol Capt Aisoon failed to appear at the municipal authorities office as requested. Instead, he went to Udon Thani, claiming he was taking his family to a doctor for surgery.

The Pattaya Provincial Court finally issued a warrant of arrest for Pol Capt Aisoon on suspicion of stealing and delivering stolen goods.

Authorities have made an appeal to Pol Capt Aisoon to move himself in to show his innocence in the incident.
