Thailand may actually start the summer season on Friday, with lower temperatures expected this year.
According to director-general of the Meteorological Department Sugunyanee Yavinchan, the summer this year will continue until mid-May, adding that the cooler La Nia period may cause temperatures to be more reasonable.
This could result in an up to 20 % boost in precipitation over the course of three months. Nevertheless, summer rain is likely to be small and restricted to certain areas.
The weatherman predicts that the metal will average between 35C and 36C this summer, which is substantially below the previous year’s 37.5C average.
The office, but, warned that 14 regions in the North and Northeast should prepare for a heatwave, with temperatures probably exceeding 42C in April, when summertime temperature typically reaches its peak.
She noted that there will occasionally get summer winds, and that the amount of rain is anticipated to be 10 to 20 % higher than last year.
