As another significant warm air mass blankets Thailand’s upper and central areas, the temperature will drop by 1-5 °C on Sunday and Monday as a result of the kingdom’s and the South China Sea’s expected decrease.
The north and northeast provinces experienced a heat drop of 3-5°C on Sunday morning, according to the Meteorological Department, with Nakhon Phanom, the province’s northernmost province, having the lowest temperature ever recorded at 7.2°C.
In Bangkok, the lowest recorded temperature was 17.5°C in Bang Na area.
In its Sunday news, the office estimates heat in the Central area, including Bangkok, and the East, may reduce by 1-2°C.
Additionally, these areas may be impacted by stronger breezes. It advised people to be cautious about possible fire hazards brought on by clean and windy conditions and to safeguard their health in the cooler climate.
The office anticipated higher conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday as a result of China’s great pressure system weakening. On Thursday and Friday, a mildly warm air mass will move in, but it’s expected to continue to be chilly to cool in top Thailand.
The government’s scientists predicted windy conditions in the North and Northeast for the next few days until the end of January.
Heavy rains are also forecast for some lower southern counties on Sunday and Monday as a result of the powerful northern rain that is roiling the Gulf of Thailand and the South. Tides reaching 1-2 meters in the Andaman Sea and strong winds and waves 2-4 meters great are common in the Gulf of Thailand.
People who reside in the southeast coastal regions of the South should be aware of the risk of strong waves crashing onto the beach. The Meteorological Department advised all boats in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea to stay offshore until Monday, while other vessels should proceed cautiously and steer clear of areas with storms, according to the office.
