Convulsing cat in Thai TV drama sparks abuse concerns

In Thailand, a picture in a television drama that depicts a black kitty convulsing on the ground has sparked outcry.

The Empress of Ayodhaya, a Thai drama, was criticized for its performance by involved viewers, some of whom suggested potential abuse and maltreatment.

A ban strategy has gained popularity on social media despite the movie’s manufacturers scrambling to assure viewers that the cat is safe.

Officials stated that they were looking into animal abuse claims.

A person makes a cat consume her teas to determine whether it has been spiked in the contentious scene. The kitten screams and writhes until it “dies” before it passes away.

Public figures and other figures quickly took to social media to express their fury over possible abuse of the kitten.

What was touted as one of the biggest Thai tragedies of the year has now been cast under the radar of those problems.

Inspired by the tale of a Siamese monarch in the 16th era,” The Empress of Ayodhaya” tells a tale of royal conflicts in the Ayutthaya era.

Indian television network One31 and the movie’s director, Sant Srikaenlaw, said the kitten had been put under anesthesia with the guidance of professionals. Sant added that the kitten had regained consciousness, and promised to take it in for a health test.

The cat’s manufacturers also uploaded video and pictures to show that it was healthy and safe.

This has not been effective in stifling open acclaim.

The Veterinary Council of Thailand, which issued a warning about the consequences of sedating creatures, declared it would take appropriate action in this case. Thailand’s Livestock Department announced that it was beginning an investigation into allegations of creature violence, adding that it had requested an inspection of the cat to ensure that it was safe.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ( PETA ) issued a statement on Monday condemning the anesthetising of the cat for entertainment, describing it as “reckless, dangerous, and cruel”.

” The government is clearly offended, especially knowing that now, everything is possible with CGI, AI and animatronics”, the speech said. ” If you ca n’t make a TV show without risking the lives of animals, you’re in the wrong business”.
