SINGAPORE: Construction on the NS Square venue in Singapore’s downtown centre started on Tuesday ( Mar 19 ), with an expected completion date by 2027.
The reconstruction of a floating program at Marina Bay into NS Square was announced in 2017. It was originally scheduled to be finished by the end of 2025, but delays were caused by the COVID- 19 crisis.
When completed, NS Square may become a national monument for all Singaporeans, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said at a pioneering meeting on Tuesday.
” Na Square aims to be a place where NSmen and their families can enjoy the prosperity and peace of a Singapore that they have protected over the years,” he said.
” It will be another diamond to add to the already magnificent sky around Marina Bay,” according to NSmen and their families, to show our nation’s sincere gratitude.
