Committee that reviews Singapore’s electoral boundaries not yet convened

Prior to the anticipated standard poll in July 2020, the EBRC convened once more in August 2019.

The committee, which is made up of civil servants, will examine the boundaries of the current political divisions and create a report outlining probable changes, taking into account changes in the electors ‘ numbers as well as changes in housing developments and population shifts.

In the most recent review, Singapore eliminated the six-member group representation constituencies ( GRCs ) and increased the number of MPs by four.

Sengkang GRC was formed, along with four fresh single-member districts- Kebun Baru, Marymount, Punggol West and Yio Chu Kang.

There are now 17 GRCs and 14 SMCs.
