Popular comedian and actor “Den Dokpradu” died in the early hours of yesterday at the age of 80.
Fellow comedian Yong Chernyim posted the news on his Facebook account, writing: “May your soul rest in peace, my brother Den Dokpradu.”
Banpote Weerarat, best known by his stage name Den Dokpradu, died peacefully at his Bangkok home around 1am, his family told TV Channel 3.
Born in Satun province’s Khuan Kalong district, Den performed in many comedy shows and acted in films and soap operas.
He was known for his polite jokes, and he played a leading role in the comedy movie Theppabud Ta Ting Nong in 1977.
Funeral bathing rites were scheduled to take place at Wat Siripongthamnimit in the Vatcharaphol area of Bangkok, yesterday.
