SINGAPORE: The overall supply of Certificates of Entitlement ( COE ) for the November 2024 to January 2025 period will go up by close to 4 per cent compared with the previous quarter.
There will be a total of 15, 834 COEs, an increase from 15, 283 in the previous quarter, the Land Transport Authority ( LTA ) said on Friday ( Oct 4).
The COEs in Category B for larger cars will increase by 2 %, while the quota for Category A, which is for smaller cars, will increase by nearly 6 %.  ,
The COE source for Category C commercial vehicles will increase by over 8 %.
A COE increase of nearly 4 % will be seen for automobiles in Category E or the Open Category, which are commonly used to record larger cars.  ,
The limit for riders ( Category D) will remain constant.
Bidding for the new allotment will begin on November 4.
LTA stated that the COE limit for the bidding phase of February 2025 to April 2025 may be announced in January of next year.
The COE limit consists of the following elements:
- 25 percent of the alternative Submissions from deregistered vehicles were used during the 12-month time from October 2023 to September 2024.
- Based on the class C car population as of December 31, 2023, there is a provision for a growth rate of 0.25 percent annually for Category C vehicles.
- Adjustments to the car population, expired COEs, the professional vehicle first turnover program, and redistribution from Category A, Category B, and Category D guaranteed deregistrations.
