Cleaning of all beaches affected by oil spill to be completed ‘within the next one month or so’: Grace Fu

In an upgrade to the House on Wednesday, she said the clean-up activity was “progressing well”, adding that the first period had been completed.

The second phase, which focuses on difficult-to-clean places like stone bunds, piers and fuel trapped deeper in the dust, is well underway, Ms Fu added. &nbsp,

” Some shores have reached their last stages, where volunteers are mobilized to help with the cleanup and reopen the beaches.”

The shores may become reopened as clean-up activities are completed, Ms Fu added. &nbsp,

Previous Saturday, Siloso Beach at Sentosa reopened for liquid actions- one-and-a-half months ahead of the expected timetable. &nbsp,

Some pieces of East Coast Park even reopened for land-based activities. In the late summer of this year, the public was advised to avoid swimming in the beach’s waters or engaging in traditional call water sports like wakeboarding and stand-up sailing.

On Wednesday, Ms Fu told parliament that” we intend to finish cleaning all affected shores within the next one to two months.”

Mr. Tan inquired about the current expenses in a secondary issue. &nbsp,

Ms. Fu claimed that the government had not yet fully accounted for the bills ‘ total. &nbsp,

” We are focusing our attention on the exact cleaning up, which I think deserves our goal, and even our immediate focus”, said the secretary. &nbsp,
