People of the Indonesian city of Tumpat were returning to submerged homes and businesses as deadly floodwaters eased after being inundated by more than a meter of rain in a few days, but there were forecasts of more weather coming.
torrential rains have impacted the Peninsula of Malaysia, especially its northern coast, and southeastern Thailand, which have caused floods that have claimed the lives of dozens of people and ruined homes, transportation links, and thousands of acres of rice crops.
Anwar Ibrahim, the prime minister of Malaysia, claimed the rains were far beyond what was anticipated, with some east coast regions receiving more than six months ‘ worth of rainfall between November 26 and November 30.
Tumpat and Tanah Merah, cities in Kelantan position close to the Thai borders, had about 1, 167mm of weather, while Besut village in Terengganu condition received 1, 761 mm, Anwar told congress.
” That’s a very high history of snowfall… it’s way beyond expectations”, he said.
Authorities are still on the lookout for another flood flood this year as some Tumpat residents begin flooding their homes and shops back to submerged.
Some people discovered that their properties had collapsed, with strewn-out fragments of the walls, the roofs, and other pieces of furniture in water bodies.
