SINGAPORE: Due to rail expansion work from October 2023 to May 2024, the Circle Line( CCL ) and Thomson-East Coast Line will operate on some days with shorter operating hours.
The Land Transport Authority ( LTA) and transport operator SMRT announced in a joint news release on Thursday( Oct 5) that Stage 4 of TEL and Stage 6 of CCL will be integrated with the existing network, necessitating temporary service adjustments on these lines. & nbsp,
Other transportation options will be made available to affected commuters in order to lessen the effects of these service changes, the authorities added.
SINGLE PLATFORM SERVICE, EARLY CCL CLOSURE
The working hours at train channels will also be impacted by the same amount of time as LTA, which will extend the architectural time by about two time for each round of the works. & nbsp,
On four Sundays, October 15, 22, and November 5, coach services will close at 10 p.m. for CCL.
This will make it easier to test a new automatic train supervision system ( ATS ), which controls how driverless trains move.
When CCL6 starts running, LTA and SMRT referred to it as a” key part” of the Circle Line’s signaling system and stated that the new system will enable the operation of 23 fresh trains, three new channels, and the expanded Kim Chuan Depot.
Observe work will be done to link the CCL HarbourFront stop to the brand-new BCL Stage 6 expansion in addition to testing the new system.
As a result, from January 20 to May 24 of the following year, Telok Blangah and HarbourFront stations does each temporarily close one program.
