Chinese navy patrols South China Sea, says Philippines creating ‘disturbances’

Beijing: On Tuesday ( Apr 29 ), China’s navy conducted a patrol in the South China Sea, claiming that the Philippines had been “propagandizing” as the Philippine and American air forces carried out their own joint mission above the disputed waterway.

As both China and the Philippines attempt to assert their sovereignty claims in the waters of the South China Sea, they have become extremely uncomfortable.

In response to shared local security worries, more than 14 000 Filipino and US men are taking part in cooperative activities that will last from April 21 through May 9. China has claimed that the exercises are controversial.

The Southern Theatre Command of China’s People’s Liberation Army claimed in a statement later on Tuesday that its troops had conducted “routine” guards in the South China Sea, without providing an exact spot.

According to a statement, the Philippines has been regularly engaging in maritime infringement provocations, creating disturbances, and bringing in nations from other regions to organize so-called” joint patrols” in recent months.

The military’s naval and air forces have kept watch over the situation and kept vigilance, it continued.

” Army in the theater of operations are firmly protecting the country’s territorial integrity and sea rights and interests, and firmly defending peace and stability in the South China Sea place.”
