Chinese military’s airspace violation is utterly unacceptable, Japan says

The top Japanese government official said on Tuesday ( Aug 27 ), a day after Japan flew jets and summoned a Chinese embassy official in Tokyo, that the violation of Japan’s airspace is “utterly unacceptable.”

According to Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi, the aircraft contravention” not only a serious infraction of Japan’s independence but it also threatens our protection.”

The government may be completely prepared for any aircraft violation, Hayashi said, while declining to provide more information about the specifics of Tokyo and Beijing’s political talks.

A Chinese Y-9 reconnaissance plane over the Danjo Islands to the north of Kyushu’s southern area for about two minutes, according to Japan, in what it claimed was China’s second airport breach.

Apart from military plane, a China State Oceanic Administration planes and a China Coast Guard helicopter violated Japan’s aircraft in 2012 and 2017, both, according to the Chinese public broadcaster NHK.
