A Chinese person has been detained at the Suvarnabhumi airport on suspicion of killing and mutilating a transgender woman before attempting to flee the state.

Art Tongyung, 41, was detained on Saturday at the aircraft outside Bangkok in response to a tip related to the identification of a mutilated body inside a hotel in Soi Arunotai 2 in Pattaya.

The hotel owner discovered the 24-year-old victim’s system in the toilet of her room, whose name is being kept a secret. The figure, on which the genitalia had been half mutilated, was led by a trail of blood.

A huge bag with clothing, knives, and other items was discovered in the room.

Local authorities arrived at the scene at 10am on Saturday, and they learned that Fu had been renting a place at the hotel for about a year. Other residents reported hearing the suspect and another person having a heated debate between 1 and 2o’clock in the morning and 2.30o’clock after the revelation.

Regulators are currently conducting forensic examination of the murder, but Fu has been taken in for questioning and confinement until more information is confirmed.
