BEIJING: In an apparent jab at the United States, China, Japan, and South Korea need to send a clear signal of regrouping towards cooperation and resist” the coercion of bullying and domination ,” according to top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi on Monday( Jul 3 ).

The comments are made at a time when tensions are at an all-time high as the US works to strengthen ties with friends Japan and South Korea in order to counteract China’s expanding influence in the region.

At a forum organized by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat— a group established by agreement between Beijing, Seoul, and Tokyo — Wang discussed efforts to rekindle cooperation among the three neighbors.

According to the Chinese foreign ministry, he urged them to” develop a sense of corporate autonomy, keep local unity and stability, avoid the return of the Cold War mentality, and be free from the coercion of bullying and domination.”
