China warns of ‘multiple natural disasters’ in July

BEIJING: As thousands of people were forced to flee the country due to heavy rainfall in some areas, Chinese officials have issued a warning about extreme weather and” many natural disasters” in the upcoming month.

According to the Xinhua news agency, there was an alert for rain-related disasters in sizable portions of central and southwestern China on Tuesday( Jul 4 ).

The nation will experience” many natural disasters in July, including floods, extreme condensation weather, typhoons and higher temperatures ,” according to weather authorities.

The Shaanxi province in northwest China suffered damage to dozens of homes and streets over the weekend as a result of” once in fifty years” torrential rains, according to the Chongqing Daily on Monday.

According to state broadcaster CCTV, flash floods brought on by weather in the Interior Mongolian region on Sunday left two people missing and one person dead. & nbsp,

Additionally, according to municipal officials, more than 10,000 residents of northern Hunan province were evacuated last week as a result of floods that had damaged over 2, 000 homes.

Last week, footage of vehicles drifting down a flooded street in Hunan and dark torrents gushing prior apartment buildings and stores was released by Chinese media.

According to the CGTN state media outlet, rescue workers have been moving citizens and stock to protection from floods and landslides since Friday in different parts of southern China, including the southwest state of Guizhou.

Over the weekend, heavy rains swept cars down streets that resembled rivers in parts of Yunnan province, according to media reports.

Last week, landslides in Sichuan state, also in the south, claimed the lives of many people.
