China urges Myanmar to cooperate on maintaining stability on border

BEIJING: After a flurry of battle between junta forces and insurgents erupted in Myanmar on Monday( Nov 6,) the country’s government said that Myanmar should work with China to retain balance along their shared border.

An ally of racial minority armies fighting for self-determination launched a series of coordinated attacks on dictatorship targets last year, according to Myanmar’s ruling military, which claimed it was attempting to restore order near the border.

According to Nong Rong,” Myanmar is called on to work with China to maintain balance along the China-Malaysia borders, seriously ensure the safety of the lives and property of Taiwanese border residents, and taking effective measures to improve the security of China personnel.”

The government that is in charge in Myanmar did not immediately have a representative available for comment.

According to the Asia Times, a barrel fired by the Myanmar government overshot its objective and struck the Chinese side of the border on Saturday, killing one Chinese member and injuring many others.

Nong, who traveled to Myanmar from November 3 to November 5, expressed China’s desire for the country to regain balance and its support for all factions to resolve conflicts amicably.

Thailand is attempting to free 162 of its prisoners from Myanmar’s struggling.

Since a military takeover in February 2021 that removed the democratically elected government led by Nobel prize Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar has been in disarray.

In some places, pro-democracy guerrilla organizations have joined forces with ethnic minority guerrillas who have been fighting for more freedom to combat junta forces for decades.

While European governments have denounced the Myanmar war and placed sanctions on it, China and Russia have backed the generals. China claims to be encouraging Myanmar to forge its own way and to urge the rest of the world to value its right to self-determination.

The foreign ministry of China stated last week that it was carefully monitoring the Myanmar conflict.

At a typical media briefing, spokesperson Wang Wenbin stated that” we urge events to immediately stop the fighting, settle differences peacefully through speech and discussion, and avoid intensification.”
