BEIJING: In response to media reports that some government agencies and businesses had ordered employees to stop using Apple iPhones at work, the Chinese foreign ministry stated on Wednesday( Sept 13 ) that China has not outlawed the purchase and use of foreign phone brands.

When questioned about the reports, foreign department spokesperson Mao Ning responded to a regular press briefing by saying that” China has not issued rules, restrictions, or policy files that prohibit the buy and use of foreign product phones such as Apple’s.”

However, we have just seen a lot of media coverage of security incidents involving Apple smartphones. She continued,” The Chinese authorities treats both domestic and foreign businesses equally and places a high value on information and computer security.

According to a recent Reuters report, China has expanded its restrictions on state workers using iPhones, ordering people at some main federal agencies to stop using their Apple mobile devices at work.

Apple, which heavily relies on China for production and revenue growth, is facing increasing challenges as a result of the alleged ban that coincides with rising conflicts between Beijing and Washington.

China, according to Mao, hoped that all mobile phone providers had strictly abide by its laws and regulations as well as” enhance information security management.”

As technologies has grown to be a significant regional safety concern for Beijing and Washington, China has emphasized using locally produced software products more and more.
