BEIJING: China offers decided to sanction US House of Associates Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her immediate family in response to her “vicious” and “provocative” actions, the Chinese foreign ministry stated on Friday (Aug 5).
“Despite China’s severe concerns and company opposition, Pelosi insisted on visiting Taiwan, seriously interfering in China’s internal matters, undermining China’s sovereignty and territorial sincerity, trampling on the one-China policy, and intimidating the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, ” the ministry spokesperson said in a statement.
