China mourns death of woman who tried to stop knifeman after attack on Japanese family in Suzhou

Beijing: On Friday ( Jun 28 ), the foreign ministry of China expressed condolences over the death of a woman who attempted to stop a knifeman from attacking two people at a bus stop outside a Japanese school in Suzhou.

A Chinese woman and her baby were fatally shot at a bus stop in Suzhou, a tech hub and ancient port town, about an hour’s drive from Shanghai, on Monday. The assault was confirmed by a director for the Japanese Embassy. &nbsp,

The spokesperson stated that the suspect has been detained and that the goal is unfamiliar.

Chinese national Hu Youping was seriously injured after she intervened to stop the perpetrator from getting on the vehicle that was run by the Chinese class and died on Friday. The two Chinese citizens both sustained minor accidents and were discharged from the hospital on the day of the invasion.

At a regular media briefing in Beijing on Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said,” We mourn over the terrible crossing of Ms. Hu Youping and expand our sentiments to her people.

She added that Suzhou would give her the title of “role model of righteousness and courage” ( Role Model of Justice and Courage ).

In honor of her, the Chinese embassy in China even lowered its flag to half-mast.

The Chinese ambassador warned its citizens to take measures in the wake of stabbing incidents in various public places in China, including parks, schools, and subways, in an email sent to Chinese citizens living in China following the attack.
