China dismisses Taiwan complaints on drone harassment

BEIJING/TAIPEI: China upon Monday (Aug 29) dismissed complaints from Taiwan about repetitive harassment by Chinese language drones very near to Taiwanese-controlled islands as not anything “to make a fuss about”, compelling Taipei to tag Beijing as nothing more than thieves.

Since China started war games and military drills near Taiwan earlier this month after the visit people House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the Chinese-claimed island , the federal government in Taipei has reported repeated flights by drones on islets it handles close to the Chinese coastline.

Video from at least two of these drone missions provides circulated widely on Chinese social media. In one, Taiwanese soldiers is visible throwing rocks toward it away.

Speaking at an everyday briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said he had seen the video footage.

“Chinese drones flying about Chinese territory, this is not some thing to make a fuss regarding, ” he mentioned.

Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry expressed anger at his feedback.

“There is an ancient Chinese teaching that ‘uninvited people are called thieves’. Whether it is breaking through the door or peeping from your air, the people associated with Taiwan do not desired such thieves, inch it said.

Taiwan’s Defence Ministry reported a further jingle incursion on Mon, near the tiny Lion Islet, part of the Kinmen group of islands that will sit opposite the Chinese cities of Xiamen and Quanzhou.

It said soldiers fired flares to warn it away and after about a minute it flew away from in the direction of Xiamen.
