The Chinese coast guard reported on Monday ( Jun 17 ) that a Philippine supply ship dangerously approached a Chinese ship, which caused a minor collision.

China and the Philippines have been battling charges for months about risky tactics and incidents at the Next Thomas Shoal, an island in the country’s unique economic zone.

China claims about the whole South China Sea, a pipeline for more than US$ 3 trillion of annual deliver- borne business, including parts claimed by the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.
China had earlier warned the Philippines about entering its territorial waters, so the nation has since issued new regulations that will impose a 2021 law that allows its navy to use lethal force against foreign ships in waters it claims.
The new regulations allow the Chinese navy to detain suspected squatters without a trial period of 60 days.  ,
