China bridge collapse kills at least 11 after floods

A half collapsed bridge bridge in northwest China resulted in at least 11 fatalities and more than 30 missing.

According to the provincial power, a sudden rainstorm and flash floods caused the collapse of the Shangluo city bridge over a creek on Friday evening.

Rescue groups have recovered a number of cars that fell into the river, and work is still being done, according to authorities.

Xi Jinping, the president of China, has urged an” all out” search for those still missing.

Five vehicles pulled from the valley below found the 11 people dead. According to state media, 20 more cars are thought to have sunk into the ocean.

A half submerged area of the bridge is shown in Xinhua news agency video and images, which flow heavily in large river waters all the way around.

According to Xinhua, authorities sent 736 firefighters, 18 ships and 32 drones to the field.

At least five people were killed on Friday in another state as a result of flooding and landslides.

Since Tuesday, heavy rains have impacted northern and central China, which have caused major flooding and damage.

In Shaanxi’s Baoji town, flooding and landslides resulted in at least five deaths and eight missing, according to state media reports.
